Outdoor roller skates have been around as long as roller skating itself. The main difference between indoor skates and outdoor skates is that outdoor skates have
softer wheels.
The softer wheels outdoors help you grip better as well as going over
rougher terrain on sidewalks. An outdoor wheel is usually under 90A
(the lower the number, the softer the wheel).
Basically, you can add outdoor wheels to just about any skate and use it outdoors, but we've featured a few models that lend themselves well to outdoor use. So grab your iPod and bottled water, and lets go skate!
